Baseball Match in Gwangju, Korea
6:58:00 AMBaseball is one of the most popular sport in Korea. Even in campus, I often see many boys playing in the field! Koreans love baseball very much! A couple of weeks ago, I went to see baseball with my lecturer and my classmates. Without knowing what exactly baseball is, I decided to see how baseball game looks like in Korea =D
Kia Tigers (Wikipedia):
KIA Tigers Professional Baseball Club (Korean: 기아 타이거즈 프로야구단) is a Korean professional baseball team founded in 1982. The Tigers are a member team of the Korean Baseball Organization and the most successful team in Korean baseball having won the national championship, the Korean Series, ten times, with a perfect 10-0 series record and a 40-12-2 game record.
Lotte (Wikipedia):
The Lotte Giants (Korean: 롯데 자이언츠) are a professional baseball team based in Busan, South Korea and one of the original franchises of the Korea Baseball Organization league. The Lotte Giants are owned by the South-Korean Japanese Lotte conglomerate, which also owns the Chiba Lotte Marines of Nippon Professional Baseball.

My English Lecturer and I.. He is from America! He is a responsible lecturer! =D
HOWEVER,
in the first time i went there, it was raining just after the game start.. and if they stop the match (because of rain) within the first 5 match, then you could use the ticket and exchange a new ticket in the next game! So, during the third game, they call off the game and we could enjoy another game!
so, the next game is on 15 May 2013..
Second time: Kia Tigers
SK (Wikipedia):
SK Wyverns Baseball Club (Hangul: 에스케이 와이번스 야구단) is a South Korean professional baseball team founded in 2000. Based in Incheon. They play their home games at Munhak Baseball Stadium.
By now, you may be asking why they have such names for their baseball team like Kia, Lotte, Sk..... etc.. Actually, these companies OWN the baseball team and support the team, therefore they named their baseball team exactly the same with their company's name.
It was really fun that day! The koreans scream during the whole game to support their teams! There were so energetic!! If you plan to come to Korea one day, and have some time, I highly recommend that you should go for a Baseball game! The crowds were so "HIGH"! They really ROCK the stadium!! Each player has it's own song, and when it's the time for the player to strike, they will sing his song and shout his name! What a great experience!!!
4.5 out of 5 stars!!
Information for the game:
1) Directions:
Take a bus to Gwangju Express Bus Terminal / U square bus terminal (Gwangcheon Terminal 광천터미널). Then take bus 16, 38 or 151 to Mudeung Stadium (무등경기장). Or take a taxi from the terminal to Mudeung Stadium. **The stadium is very near to the U-square bus terminal**
2) Ticketing:
Sorry there is not much info to provide as my lecturer helped us to booked the tickets earlier.
Btw, if you really don't want to miss this out, you can go to the stadium earlier and buy the tickets ON THE SPOT. Tickets cost about 8000 won - normal (appx RM24).
